Large grocery and discount stores such as Wal-Mart, across the country have been targeted by a caller who threatens to blow up shoppers and workers with a bomb if employees fail to wire money to an account overseas, according to authorities. Frightened workers have wired thousands of dollars, and in one case took off their clothes, to placate a caller who said he was watching them but may have been thousands of miles away. The FBI and police said Wednesday they are investigating similar bomb threats at more than 15 stores in at least 11 states, all in the past week.

Police in southern Italy have arrested more than 30 suspected members of rival Mafia gangs which are linked to the killing of six Italian men in Germany. Equine Flu Hits Sydney Racehorses

Eight Australian racehorses have tested positive for equine influenza, forcing the suspension of Sydney's spring carnival racing. The horses are based at Randwick racecourse in Sydney, the headquarters of racing in New South Wales. The racecourse will be quarantined for 30 days to try to contain the outbreak.They said the flu could spread quickly through the Randwick stables, where some 700 thoroughbreds are based.

Deadly Cholera Outbreak in Iraq

An outbreak of cholera in two northern Iraqi provinces has killed eight people and infected 80 others, according to the Kurdistan Regional Government. The Kurdish Health Minister said local health authorities were also treating 4250 suspected cases of the disease in Sulaimaniya and Tamim. Militants Free Pakistani Soldiers

Eighteen soldiers and an official held hostage by pro-Taleban militants in Pakistan's South Waziristan region have been released. Sixteen soldiers were abducted earlier this month. Bangladesh Moves to Quell Unrest

The Israeli army has said it had no involvement in the death of a Hamas militant in an explosion in Gaza on Thursday evening. But an Israeli army spokesman denied any Israeli attack had taken place.

Iraqi Sheikh Killed b Al-Qaeda

A Sunni leader in the Iraqi province of Diyala, who encouraged his community to confront al-Qaeda in Iraq, has been killed by the group according to police. The militants exploded a bomb in his house in the town of Kanaan and fired mortars and rocket-propelled grenades at other houses and a Sunni Mosque. There are conflicting reports, but police in nearby Baquba said a total of 22 civilians died in the dawn attack. The attackers then seized at least seven people before retreating. Some of those kidnapped were women and children according to residents.

The U.N. Security Council approved a 26,000 strong peacekeeping force for Darful to try to help end four years of fighting that has killed more than 200,000 people in the vast Sudanese region. Vacation

We just spent 4 great days in Wisconsin. We went up to Duluth and rode one of the Vista boats all around the Harbor of Lake Superior, seeing many huge ships coming and going with all kinds of cargo. We had Sunday Brunch at the restaurant on top of the Radisson. It moves while you are eating until you have gone all the way around and have seen the entire area. The food was outstanding. Then we visited the beautiful rose gardens and there are so many roses of every color and the whole area smelled so good. We finished off the day with a light supper at Perkins and headed back 100 miles where we had cake and ice cream before we went to bed. Saturday we went up to Taylor Falls and the big park up there, St. Croix and a beautiful overlook of the dam. We went to a music show that night and it cooled off and there was a nice breeze. We saw outside on lawn chairs. Every evening twin fawns and their mother came onto the farm to eat the apples that had been knocked down for them or the wind blew down. We went to see a nephews new half million dollar home too while we were there. Alot of fun was had by all. But it's always good to get back to your own bed again.

Photographers Say Spears Threatened Them

Britney Spears threw a baby bottle and threatened two photographers after the took pictures of her leaving a Las Vegas spa. She yelled "I am going to kill you!". She also cursed at a photographer who was allegedly beaten by Spears' bodyguard, according to a statement released by their lawyers. The two photographers are threatening to sue.
The men were taking pictures of Spears, 25 , as she and her children, 22 month old Sean Preston Federline and 10 month old Jayden James Federline, left the spa at the Wynn Las Vegas casino-hotel accompanied by two bodyguards. She is a real mess in my opinion.

Roberts Leaves Hospital Day After Seizure

Chief Justice John Roberts walked out of the hospital in Maine, released a day after he suffered a seizure. The White House said he told President Bush he was doing fine. Edwards Criticizes Deal To Sell Weapons

John Edwards said the Bush administration's plan to sell $20 billion worth of weapons to friendly Arab states amounted to a foreign policy of convenience and he will take a tougher stance with Saudi Arabia if elected president. He said the USA should require the Saudi government to shut down the movement of terrorists across its borders, help stabilize the Iraqi government and participate more seriously in regional security before it is offered weapons. It was announced that ABC "Good Morning America", anchor Robin Roberts has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be undergoing surgery. She is 46, and told viewers about her cancer on the show.
