Vegans Sentenced to Life In Prison

A vegan couple has been sentenced to life in prison for their baby's death. The 6 week old boy was malnourished as they fed him a diet consisting mainly of apple juice and soy milk. He only weighed 3 1/2 pounds when he died of starvation, a horribly painful death, from what I have heard. They were found guilty of malice murder, felony murder, involuntary manslaughter and cruelty to children. She is 27 and he is 3l yrs old. They were first time parents and were trying to stay with their vegan diet and the couple said they didn't realize the baby, who was born at home, was in danger until minutes before he died. The mother claims she loved her son and did not want to starve him.I think something was sadly lacking in their education somewhere.
