Funeral Visitation

We went to a funeral visitation Sunday afternoon.  It was for my husband's sister.  She was 93 years old. It was about an hour's drive to get there.  The weather was good, though hot.  Visited with 2 of her daughters. The other one was driving in from Colorado.  We didn't go to the funeral on Monday.  It seems you see more people at the visitations than at the funerals.  She is in Heaven now which is a blessing, having been in a nursing home for at least 5 years.

Jesus is Risen

For Christians all over the world, this Sunday is a day of celebrations.  Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was crusified, died, and rose again to Heaven to be with God, the Father.  He took all our sins on his body on the Cross so that we might have life everlasting.  However, you need to repent of your sins and accept him and you will receive the Holy Spirit.  Many say they have never sinned.  But, since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, everyone born from them and after them was born in sin and must be redeemed from everlasting death.  When you repent and accept Jesus, your life changes.  It doesn't happen all at once but it will happen.  Things you thought were fun like getting drunk and taking drugs, you will realize are not what you should be doing.  People say that Christians who are saved from sin have no fun.  However, there is no better life than life with Jesus  in your Heart.  You are no longer afraid of death because you know you will spend Eternity in Heaven which is so much more beautiful than we can even begin to imagine.  You don't want to miss Heaven and spend Eternity in Hell, burning with an everlasting fire and pain, in darkness, completely separated from God.  The Bible explains it all very well and everyone needs to read it and believe it.

Sad Holidays

I lost my husband on September 8. He missed his birthday on September 30. Then he missed our 61st anniversary which would have been October 8. Now he will not be here for Thanksgiving. But I think the hardest will be Christmas without him. I am dreading Christmas this year. I know we celebrate Jesus Birthday and Jesus is the Reason for the Season, but that does not help the big hole my husband left in my home and heart. It is hard to explain to anyone just how empty the house is or how lonely it is. I am so glad he is in Heaven as he is going to have the best Christmas ever and he is already having a wonderful time with his Savior, Jesus Christ and Father God and our two children who went on before him. He has so many brothers and sisters there too in Heaven. Some were born before him and died and he never got to meet them in his lifetime. But now I know he is with them all.

2011

Here it is 2011. In 2000, I wondered if I would live to see this year. Life goes so fast and the next thing we know it will be 2012 unless the Lord comes back first. I would like that to happen. I am ready to go to Heaven so it can be any time. If you die tonight, do you know where you are going - Heaven or Hell? There is only one way to God and that by way of his son, Jesus.

Church

Did you attend the church of your choice today? We did. The pastor had a great message on salvation. If you haven't accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are not going to Heaven. A lot of the world today thinks everyone goes to Heaven. - NOT! Also, they are not up there looking down on us. There are so many myths around about Heaven and so many who have died believing these myths and lies are now in HELL. It is very sad. I listened to a man who went to HELL for 23 days and he came back to describe it and it would scare you greatly to hear him tell what he saw there. It isn't all friends and fun and green bubble up either like you hear on St. Patrick's Day. It is a rude awakening. Another thing that isn't going to get you into Heaven is being baptized as a baby by sprinkling a little water on you. Or your folks are Christians, so that makes you one - wrong! Like they say, you can sit in the garage for years and you won't be a car. Three famous people died in the last few days and I don't know where they are but I hope they weren't unpleasantly surprised. I just heard that Billy Mays that pitches all kinds of products on TV just died today at age 50! Where did he go? You aren't promised anymore than the breath you just took, so are you ready to meet your maker?

Death

Death comes quickly and unexpectedly many times. Yesterday our daughter-in-law's father suddenly died, age 71. I don't know that he had any warning but he had accepted the Lord Jesus as his savior so now we know that he is in Heaven. That is a great comfort to everyone and the family. Are you ready to die? Do you know where you are going - Heaven or Hell? It's time to be sure. This maybe your last breath you take. There are no guarantees.

It's Kind of Sad

You know, I have been thinking and it is kind of sad growing old. Our big family have families of their own and jobs and are so very busy. It's been a long Holiday with nothing to do and no company or BBQ's. In a way, it's kind of good to see the work week come again, even if we don't go to work anymore. At least the stores are open so you can go get something if you need it. I saw a cartoon that said it all. First, there are two of you 1 + 1 + 2. Then you have a family and it is 1 + 1 +4 + 6. Then it is back to 1 + 1 = 2 and you rarely see the 4 that are subtracted from the equation. You just kind of fade into the shadows and the next generation takes over. Life goes so fast you can't believe it sometimes. Heard on the news that it has been a year since Steve, the alligator man was killed by a Stingray. And Diana has been gone 10 years. Where did those years go? I'm that much close to Heaven and there are times, I can hardly wait to get there. Are you ready?

Jerry Falwell at Peace

About two weeks ago, Jerry Falwell preached of man being indestructible until he has finished god's work. Then he told churchgoers he was at peace with death. On the day before he died, Jerry called his son and asked him to take a drive up the mountain that overlooks Liberty University. He posed for pictures near a new massive "LU" logo with students from the school he built. He said he was feeling better than he had felt in awhile, said his son. He had been feeling kind of tired in the past two weeks. I feel Jerry Falwell had finished his share of God's work and now is resting in Heaven with his Lord Jesus and father God.
