Very Cold Winter

We are blessed not to have snow and ice like many places are having. Heavy rains in California causing problems too and freezing rain in the South. However, we have the cold. It is -13 this morning. The wind chill is -23 but will get worse as the wind picks up. The sun is out and it looks so nice outside. That is very deceiving as it is super cold. I feel sorry for all those working outside all the time. No wonder my husband always hated winter as he worked outside all his life.

Beautiful Sunset

I just looked out the window.  The sun is setting and it is just beautiful.  A great deal of the sky is lavender.  There are yellows and orange colors too.  You don't often see such beautiful sunsets in this part of the winter.  They say we are going to have milder temperatures too for the rest of the winter.  That will be nice as we will probably get to see more sunshine, I hope.  The severe wind chills have lasted long enough.  Not to get thru February.

Arctic Freeze

We are in the middle of an arctic freeze.  All that very cold air is coming down from Canada.  It is -3 this morning with a wind chill way down in the minus 30's.  You can get frostbite in 10 or 15 minutes.  So you better be dressed good and warm and not stay outside long.  I heard Minnesota schools are closed.  One gal on TV from Minnesota said they never close schools there so this is very unusual.

Sun Dogs

The sun is shining this morning but it is so very cold, there are sun dogs on both sides of the sun this morning. It is quite a site to see. That means it is extremely cold and going to have dangerous wind chills today when the wind comes up.
