$1.2 Million for Cat's Story

Once upon a time, back in l988, a librarian came to work and checked the book drop on a cold January morning. What she found was a surprise. It was a cat. She took in the cat and named him Dewey Readmore Books and he was named after the Dewey Decimal System. After 19 years, Dewey died in the arms of the librarian who took him in so many years ago. Dewey endeared himself to everyone who came into the library. TV crews from as far away as Japan came to the small town to film Dewey. That is the way his whole life went as it seemed he drew people from around the world. She says she had nothing to do with it. Now, this librarian has signed a $1.2 million deal with a New York based Grand Central Publishing, formerly Warner Books to write the story of Dewey's life and how it impacted herlife and others. She and a ghost author will be writing the book. The ghost author wil be coming in to do research sometime soon for the book, but it probably won't be published until Spring 2008.
