Kazakh Leader's Son-in-law Held
Austrian police have arrested the son-in-law of the Kazakh President, who is wanted on kidnapping charges in his country. Amid an escalating family feud, Rakhat Aliyev was sacked as ambassador to Austria on Saturday. The authorities accuse him of ordering the abduction of two bankers. He says the case is aimed at destroying his political ambition. An Austrian court is to rule on Kazakhstan's extradition request. They sent a team of prosecutors to Vienna to secure his arrest. Mr. Aliyev says the charges are fabricated and designed to stop him standing for president.
