Marines Killed

Fourteen Marines were killed and some beheaded. Muslim insurgents ambushed a Philipine marine convoy searching for a kidnapped Italian priest and killed 14 troops, beheading at least 10 of them, according to a military spokesman. The chaotic, seven hour firefight took place in dense jungle on the southern island of Basilan. The military blamed the Abu Sayyaf for the clash and said nine other marines were wounded.
