Guantanamo Medics Fail Patients
A letter published in a British medical journal says US military doctors have been accused of turning a blind eye to abuse at Guantanamo Bay Prison. This letter focused on accusations of force feeding of hunger strikers at the prison camp in Cuba. Thirty years ago Steve Biko died while being detained by security policy. At first it was thought he died of a hunger strike but later an inquest showed that he died of head injuries that happened during a policy interrogation. Thus, the doctors are suspected now of not paying enough attention to prisoners.
