Cancer Patients Die Sooner if Uninsured
It would appear that cancer patients without insurance are more likely to die within five years than those with insurance. They are nearly twice as likely to die as those with private coverage. This is the first national study of its kind and it sheds light on troubling health care obstacles. The main reason, it seems, is that patients without insurance coverage don't get the screenings that other do so the cancer isn't found until it is advanced and often too late.
