Barbara Walters Reveals Affair with Senator

Barbara Walters has been keeping mum for three decades about a past affair with married U. S. Senator Edward Brooke, she is disclosing the affair and says she remembers him as exciting and brilliant. She was appearing on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" which is scheduled to air today. Walters shares details of her relationship with Brooke that lasted several years in the l970's. Brooke is a moderate Republican from Massachusetts, who took office in l967. He was the first African American to be popularly elected to the Senate. His affair with Walters had never before come to light and had ended before he lost his bid for a third term in l978.
