Fossils Found in Iowa

Due to all the flooding in Iowa, water has uncovered more of Iowa's past. Among the ruins of concrete blocks, collapsed asphalt and a 4 foot drop where a road used to be, are thousands of fossils from the creatures that lived here 375 million years ago when Iowa was a tropical sea. That is according to the scientists. I choose to believe that it was during the time of the flood of Noah's time that these fossils were floated all over the world and can show up anywhere. This particular area is called the Devonian Fossil gorge. It was created in July l993, the last time water burst over the Coralville Dam spillway. The Park Ranger says this month's flood swept the gorge clean and brought new fossils into view.
