Growing Older - The Sensible Age

Is there anyone out there who is in retirement and has reached the point where they say to themselves “I wish I had dusted more” or “I wish I had cleaned the house more”. If you have, you are nuts. The older I get, the more I realize no matter how much you dust, it sneaks back up on you as soon as you turn your back. You can vacuum until you wear it out and you still need to vacuum. It never ends. You mop the floors and 10 minutes later, you spill something, someone walks in with snowy shoes, sometimes even a little mud and what good did it do? For 5 minutes the floor was squeaky clean.

Yup, I have decided to let the dust rise to a level where I can write notes to myself in it so I won’t forget to get butter next time at the grocery store. And I’m going to give the vacuum a rest (really giving my back a rest and it needs it) and forget the floor. Take a damp paper towel and wipe up the spots and it looks like I mopped it. I’m going to enjoy retirement to the fullest. How about you?
