Executing our kids' green vision for our game room

Guest post written by Lucy Stringer

Our kids have really gone green crazy. I don't think that's a bad thing, it's just kind of funny that a 10 and 12 year old know way more than two adults about why it's important to be environmentally conscious. I even had to get them to explain what a carbon footprint is and why it's important to lessen our household's. They're smart kids and they're developed their own design plan for our game room to help make it green!

One of the things that they pointed me to was the site http://www.shopelectricityratestexas.com. They convinced us to switch over our energy service to that provider, which we found out would help us become more energy efficient.

They also told us to install some motion activated lights so that we don't leave lights on in the room and have to use that extra energy for nothing. But they will also be using the game room more than we will, so it makes sense so they want to make sure it0s how they want it. And we0re absolutely fine with that!
