Season of Cicada Killer Wasps

Due to the hot and unusually dry weather we have had this summer, the Cicada Killer Wasps have really multiplied. They are unusual in that they burrow into the ground rather than build nests above ground. For instance, ordinary wasps usually attack to your house near the roof and build a nest. If you disturb it, they will attack and sting you. The Cicada does not do that because they have no nest to defend. They are called Killer Wasps but they do not attack so the name "Killer" really doesn't describe them correctly. Just don't pay any attention to them. Bug and wasp spray doesn't kill them.
