The Deck

Our deck has been around for quite some time. Some of the nails heads have rusted off and some of the boards were beginning to bulge up. My husband had to get out his drill and screw those boards down tightly again. He also sprayed the deck with water proofing to preserve the wood. The deck is on the east side so it gets a great deal of heat from the sun and it is hard on the wood. It is good to stop and check it over each year and make sure it is in good shape.

Decks

We have a great deck on the east side of the house. It is so nice and shady in the afternoon, whereas our neighbors is directly in the sun. I kind of feel sorry for them as they aren't as able to enjoy theirs as much as we can. It is too bad that all decks can't be built on the north side of houses as there is shade all the time then.
