Serb Demonstrators Attack U.N. Police
Violent protests rocked Serb-dominated northern Kosovo on Friday as mobs chanting "Kosovo is ours!" hurled stones, bottles and firecrackers at U.N. Police guarding a bridge that divides Serbs from ethnic Albanians.The scenes brought back memories of the carnage unleashed by former Serb autocrat Slobodan Milosevic the last time Kosovo tried to break away from Serbia, which considers the territory its ancestral homeland.

Afgan Demonstrators Shot Dead
Afgan police opened fire on demonstrators in Shiberghan, the capital of the northern province of Jowzjan and seven people have died, according to officials there.The demonstrators were supporters of the controversial Uzbek fighter, general Rashid Dostum. They were demanding his resignation. He is the provincial governor. Nato-led troops have been called in.

Venezuelan TV Closes
Thousands of people have demonstrated in Caracas as Venezuela's oldest TV network went off the air after President Hugh chavez did not renew its license. Opponents of the decision massed outside the station's headquarters to voice their anger while Mr. chavez's supporters celebrated.Mr. chavez said the tV station was trying to undermine his government. The fight continues-------------
