Tulips and Snow

Our tulips are all up so nice. Then we had to get 2-3" of heavy wet snow on them. I know they are hardy and it is a good thing they are. The sun finally came out a bit this morning and melted some of the snow but I hope tomorrow is sunny. There is more snow that needs to be melted. I feel sorry for the Robins. They are trying to build their nests in the worst weather and the females look like they will burst with eggs so they better hurry. I bet if they could think, they would wish they had waited another few weeks to return north.

Where Have All The Tulips Gone?

Where are all the Tulips? They always come up through the snow and are so hardy. But this year, my husband thought he saw one green leaf and we haven't seen any since. I hope that the snow melting and turning to ice, hasn't frozen them out. That happened one year where the rain fell on the snow and made such a crust, it froze out all the flowers. It will sure be good to see them pop up if they are going to do so. We have beautiful yellow peony tulips that are full and have 2 and 3 on a stem. They are special. Sure hope they survived.
