Poetry

I used to write quite a few poems but it has been quite awhile since I wrote one. I sent a number of them in to the National Literary Guild and received certificates for several years. I had some published in their big books and bought one of them once. I also got one printed in the Iowa book of poems one year so I got a copy of that but otherwise they are quite expensive. I see there are still quite a few poem contests going on but I haven't really gotten the urge to write a poem and enter one of the contests. Maybe some day I will try it again. One thing about poetry, it seems like the poem just pops into your head and you grab paper and pencil and before you know it, it is written. You have to have the inspiration.
