Google Acquires Web ad Manager
Google, Inc. the online search leader said it has agreed to pay $3.1 billion in cash to acquire ad-management technology company Double Click, Inc. After the markets closed on Friday, the two companies announced the deal. The takeover was approved by both boards of their companies and this is expected to close by the end of the year. Double Click is a New York based company. It helps its customers place and track online advertising,including search ads. This has turned into an extremely lucractive business for Google. Double Click was the target of a fierce bidding war between Microsoft and Google and Google's bid was three times higher. This is the largest in Google's history.
