Indians buy Harleys
What do you think of this trade off - Harleys for Mangoes. That is what the Indian farmers are going to do. The United States banned mango imports from India 18 years ago. The reason was they were concerned the Indian farmers were using too many pesticides. But the have decided to irradiate the fruit to kill any pests, making mangoes fit for consumption in the U. S. Milwaukee based Harley Davidson's entry has been hampered by stringent emissions standards and tariffs of more than 90 percent. So now Indian mangoes will be on the U>S> shelves for the first time in 18 years while Harley Davidson motorcycles will soon be cruising India's roads according to senior Indian and U. S. officials.
