Let's Talk Turkey

Waking up in the woods in the spring is an amazing experience, one that is difficult to explain to those who have not witnessed the timber come alive around them. Turkey hunters can communicate it with a look, a shake of the head and a twinkle in their eye. You really have to be there to understand. On April 16 Iowa timber will be filled with hunters as the first of Iowa's four turkey hunting seasons begin. This attracts around 55,000 hunters with about 45 percent finding success. There should be no problem finding turkeys this year as there seems to be a good turkey population. Wherever you find trees, you find birds. Come on, you turkey hunters. Come here and hunt.
