2007 Masters Golf Tournament

The 2007 Masters Golf Tournament was held at the Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia on Sunday and Zach Johnson, an "Iowa Boy" overcame Tiger Woods to win the tournament. Great things were predicted for Zach in the spring of 2004. He had just won for the first time on the PGA Tour at the BellSouth Classic. The man who once coached him predicted that Zach had Ryder Cups and major championships in his future. Those predictions are coming true. Zach's victory is huge for golf in the state of Iowa. Iowa doesn't have a professional major football franchise, or basketball, or baseball. But Iowa has a Masters champion. In l998, a group of investors pooled their money and backed Zach's professional career. Many considered it a 99-1 long shot that he'd make it. He did. He won the green jacket and landed a place in sporting history.
