New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine

The car in which the Governor was riding was going 91 MPH moments before it crashed. This was verified by the superintendent of state police on Tuesday. He also was not wearing a seat belt, in direct violation of the New Jersey code. He was critically injured when the vehicle in which he was riding crashed into a guardrail on the Garden State Parkway, north of Atlantic City. The speed limit on that stretch of highway is 65. The SUV was in the left lane with its emergency lights flashing when a pickup tried to get out of its way and instead it set off a chain reaction that resulted in the crash. He had many broken bones but is now in stable condition. He is very luck in that he doesn't have brain damage or paralysis and is doing well for someone who sustained so many serious injuries.
