Stormy Weather

They say we are in for some stormy weather today. We are in a rather severe watch but hope we don't have anything but rain. Last weekend a storm blew through with 60 MPH winds and hail in some places too. Many towns lost a great many big trees. It pretty much missed us but we got a 1/4 inch of rain. We really needed the rain. Traveling this weekend, we saw many branches broken off and trees down. On the news they showed a really big tree that fell right on someone's home. That is bad when that happens. I guess one place had hail the size of baseballs. Now that is big and does a lot of damage.

Heat Wave

We are having a terrible heat wave. However, I think most of the country is having the same kind of weather. They said another heat warning all afternoon. Also will have a wind warning too. And the funny thing is that it is snowing so had in the Sierras of California that people are having to put chains on their vehicles to get around. Weird weather.

Blizzard Warnings

Here we go again. We have blizzard warnings out for tomorrow. They say we could get 2-5 inches of snow with winds from 30 to 40 mph and gusts to 50 mph. These weekend storms sure put a damper on activities. Last weekend there were lots of things going on in town and the storm went around us. That was sure a good thing as it would have spoiled so many parades and open houses. I hope it does the same thing again this weekend but it doesn't sound good.

High Wind Warnings

The weatherman is right again. We have started getting new snow about 2 hours ago. It is the light fluffy stuff because we have been below zero for over a week. Nights are still going to be that cold for 3 days or so. He promised us high winds tomorrow that are going to cause whiteout on the roads. This is very dangerous to all travelers. Some places are already not advising travel.

High Winds

Boy have we got the high winds. If it isn't raining, then the sun comes out and the wind starts blowing. I have some cut up cardboard to recycle and it is going to be fun trying to get it into the recycle dumpster in this wind. It can take off like airplanes. One bad thing about it is that it comes from just the right direction to blow our tulips right over and break them off. They are so extra pretty this year too, both red and yellow peony tulips. Just gorgeous.
