April 1st
April 1st is only a week away. It looks like April is going to come in like a Lamb here in this area anyway. The big snow piles are disappearing slowly and turning into ice. It is good that it is melting slowly to offset flooding. I put out my little flags to scare away the rabbits from the tulips but the tulips aren't up yet. The ground is really frozen hard. I don't know what the Robins do when it is this cold. Can't see how they can get any worms to eat. I had a hard time finding a spot soft enough to stick the narrow little metal stem into that holds these little flags. It's supposed to get to 60 Sunday. That will be a regular heat wave for us.

The Lilac Bush
We had a beautiful purple lilac bush. It smelled so very good when it was blooming in the summer. Two years ago, the frost was late and it killed all the buds and we didn't have any lilacs at all. Then last year the snow was so high that the rabbits got way up the trunk of it and chewed off all the bark, killing it. But sprouts grew up and we wrapped them and we now have a good bush but we got some fence and we need to get it around it so the rabbits don't get it again this year.
