Food Exchange

It is a lot of fun having my daughter living right here in town. I had made a delicious batch of chili and wanted to take her some. She loved it and had it for her lunch. Then she sent home something for me to have for supper that smells wonderful. I am anxious to try it tonight. She also sent home some wonderful cookies her husband made and banana muffins. What a great deal! I look forward to more good stuff like this now that she lives here.

Chili

I made a nice big batch of chili and it sure tastes good. I thought it was too hot to make it, but it sure hit the spot. I love it with bread and butter. Most put crackers in it. However, my brother and I grew up with bread and butter and so that is the way both of us love to eat it. My husband enjoys both crackers and bread and butter with his chili. I love having a big bowl of soup in the refrigerator as there is something quick to eat anytime.

Chili for Lunch

Made chili for lunch today. Easy recipe. Brown a pound of ground beef, add one can of Mrs. Grimes Chili Beans, One 15 oz can of Hunts tomato sauce, one can of water, 3 tsp of sugar, 1 tablespoon special taco seasoning we get. Heat and eat. Serve with crackers, bread and butter. I was brought up with bread and butter instead of crackers and that is best to me. It gets better with age and will have for lunch again tomorrow after church. We are Greeters tomorrow. Hope it isn't so windy.

Chili Earthquake

The Chili earthquake has left over 1700 dead as of last report. Strong aftershocks from the powerful earthquake hit Northern Chili on Thursday as the government erected a working military hospital and promised hundreds of other portable dwellings for the 15,000 left homeless by the quake. They are scrambling for food, water and medicine also. It was a 7.7 earthquake.

Pie Anyone?

I'm going to make a cherry pie today. Haven't made one for quite awhile and I think this blustery, cold, blizzard of a day is the day to make one. The oven will warm the kitchen too a little extra. Think it might be a good day for a batch of fresh chili soup too. Doesn't that sound good? I better get busy.
