Birthday

It is my brother's birthday today.  I took him a card and gifts.  Also took a meal over and we sat and visited quite awhile.  He had surgery on his back awhile back and he was ready for a nap after we had visited awhile.  He was watching a hillarious program on TV and it was really funny.  I enjoyed spending time with him after church.

My Daughter

Thursday my daughter came to spend the day with me. She brought me some fresh cut up rhubarb. It is just exactly the right amount to make a delicious rhubarb cake. I am going to make it tomorrow and share it with the neighbors. If she didn't live so far away, I would share it with her too. We had a good visit and a good lunch and it was really sweet of her to drive 2 hours to spend the day with me. Her twin lives right here in town and has me over for suppers and often sends home delicious dishes for me to have at home for suppers. It is great to have daughters who love you and I love them too. My sons are special too.

Lunch with Friend

We are going to go for lunch today with a good friend. We worked together for many years. Her job was eliminated after almost 21 years and it was quite a shock. She just had a knee replacement and had just gotten back to work. Hoping to cheer her up, although she is a very upbeat person.

How Old Am I?

Can you guess. I bet you can't. I had a birthday yesterday and it was a great day. We went to lunch with one of our daughters and son-in-law and a grandson. He drove quite aways to be there and that was a real surprise to see him drive up at the restaurant. We had a wonderful Mexican meal and then headed home for a good visit.

Father's Day

Yesterday was Father's Day and my husband had a good one. He got cards from all four of our kids and money and a lunch out after church with one of our daughters, granddaughter, and great granddaughter. We went to a Mexican restaurant and Kaelyn talked and talked to the waiter. We couldn't understand her and neither could he, but he enjoyed her talking to him.:0)

Polish Sausage

Anyone out there like Polish Sausages? We like to have one for lunch every now and then. Get a few chips, cheetos or fritos and you have a quick lunch. Wash it down with cold milk and add a little fruit and you are all set. It is a beautiful sunny day so we have had more time to get outside now that the rain has stopped until tonight. My husband cut off a huge limb that was rubbing on the house roof and eves. Glad to get that done and hauled away. With all the wind, we didn't need that tree branch rubbing on the house.

Chili for Lunch

Made chili for lunch today. Easy recipe. Brown a pound of ground beef, add one can of Mrs. Grimes Chili Beans, One 15 oz can of Hunts tomato sauce, one can of water, 3 tsp of sugar, 1 tablespoon special taco seasoning we get. Heat and eat. Serve with crackers, bread and butter. I was brought up with bread and butter instead of crackers and that is best to me. It gets better with age and will have for lunch again tomorrow after church. We are Greeters tomorrow. Hope it isn't so windy.
