Busy Weekend

This is going to be a busy weekend. My oldest son and family are coming up tomorrow. We are planning on visiting and then in the afternoon, meeting up with his mother-in-law at a restaurant and having a good visit there. Our church is having a candlelight service tomorrow night, Christmas Eve, at 5 pm so that will work out well. We will be eating in the same town as church and it will be fun to have a good visit with everyone.

Eating Out

I really enjoy eating out. After 60 years of making meals, I have run out of ideas and a lot of my recipes are not so easy to cut down to 2 people instead of 7. So sometime, it is a real challenge to come up with something new and different. The best I can do is go out to eat and let someone else do the cooking and the cleanup afterwards. Besides that, you get to taste various different kinds of cooking, sometimes really good and sometimes not so good. If it isn't good, we just don't go back to that place.

Family Visit

Sunday, my sister surprised us and came to church from 50 miles away. What a surprise to hang up my coat and turn around and there she was. She got there earlier than we did and went to Sunday School too. After church, we went to local drive in restaurant and ate inside and called my brother. He came with his friend and the 6 of us had a great visit. After lunch my sister came over and I went over some things on the computer that she wasn't too familiar with. She then dropped off some stuff for my brother at his house and headed for home. It was a beautiful warm sunny day and a good time was had by all.

Eating Out

I find that eating out with a cast on your right hand (and you are right handed) can be a real challenge. It's funny how food doesn't want to stay on your fork quite the same way with your left hand. That is one reason to go have pizza and chicken that you can pick it up with your hands and eat. Salad can be a very real challenge and if you don't wear some of it home, you have done well. :0)

Housework

I hate housework! Vaccumed the other day but need to clean the vinyl floors. Think I will wait as we keep dragging in new snow. Have the laundry all done & put away and can take it easy today. Think we'll venture out to the Pizza Ranch tonight for their great broasted chicken and pizza.
