Baby Dedication
We don't baptize babies in our church, we dedicate them to the Lord. When they become old enough to accept Jesus, then they may choose to be baptized in water. My little great granddaughter is going to be dedicated in church soon. I am blessed to be able to ride along with her grandparents and join her parents and the other set of grandparents to attend the dedication. I am really looking forward to going. We will have lunch at the baby's parents and then come home again. She isn't really a very small baby anymore but as you can see she is so cute.

Birthday
It is my brother's birthday today. I took him a card and gifts. Also took a meal over and we sat and visited quite awhile. He had surgery on his back awhile back and he was ready for a nap after we had visited awhile. He was watching a hillarious program on TV and it was really funny. I enjoyed spending time with him after church.

Family 4th of July
I had a wonderful 4th of July. The fireworks were the best I had ever seen in my life. I got to spend a great deal of time with my daughter and son-in-law and all their kids and grandkids and therefore, my grandkids and great grandkids. I also went to a family picnic on Saturday which was a family reunion and it was tremendous with all the food and visiting. Sunday was church and afterwards had a big lunch at the Pizza Ranch with family and that night, homemade enchiladas which were delicious. It was a great Holiday.

Celebrating Easter
We celebrated Easter yesterday first with a breakfast at church. Then we had a great service with lots of music, communion and a message from our Pastor. After church I drove to my son's house and then to grandson's for a late dinner. It was all very good food. Some new things that were delicious. Polished off the day with cherry pie and ice cream. A good time was had by all the great grandchildren.

Dedication Day
In our church we don't baptize babies, we dedicate them to the Lord. Here my little great granddaughter is all dressed up for her dedication. Afterwards, we all had a first birthday party at her folks. There was lots of food, enough for 3 times the people that were there. Then we had cake and ice cream. She really got into her own little cake with both hands. She had to have a bath afterwards. It was a lot of fun.

Church
I am going to go to church this morning with my daughter and son-in-law. I have been there before and had been thinking of visiting there again. I know several people there so will be right at home. My grandson was married in that church too. It will be fun to go with them for a change and they go later which gives me more time to get ready. It will be very enjoyable to listen to their Pastor. I have heard him before and he is very good.

Pot Luck
We are having a big potluck after church on Sunday. Everyone is assigned a certain dish if they wish to bring it. I am going to make a cherry and a peach pie tomorrow for the meal. It always smells so good during the church service that it really makes you hungry. I love not having to go home after church and make lunch. It is more fun to eat out.

Church Greeters
Tomorrow we are Greeters at church. This has been a 5 week month so we have been Greeters twice this month. We greet where the little children come in with their parents and have a system where they sign in and put a numbered tag on their child. then when they go to their class, if they have a problem, the number is flashed on the huge screens in the main sanctuary and the parents can go and see what the problem is. It is a great help to the workers in the classes and for the parents also. We want all the children to be completely safe. It is also fun greeting everyone as they arrive. We really enjoy it.

Church
Did you attend the church of your choice today? We did. The pastor had a great message on salvation. If you haven't accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are not going to Heaven. A lot of the world today thinks everyone goes to Heaven. - NOT! Also, they are not up there looking down on us. There are so many myths around about Heaven and so many who have died believing these myths and lies are now in HELL. It is very sad. I listened to a man who went to HELL for 23 days and he came back to describe it and it would scare you greatly to hear him tell what he saw there. It isn't all friends and fun and green bubble up either like you hear on St. Patrick's Day. It is a rude awakening. Another thing that isn't going to get you into Heaven is being baptized as a baby by sprinkling a little water on you. Or your folks are Christians, so that makes you one - wrong! Like they say, you can sit in the garage for years and you won't be a car. Three famous people died in the last few days and I don't know where they are but I hope they weren't unpleasantly surprised. I just heard that Billy Mays that pitches all kinds of products on TV just died today at age 50! Where did he go? You aren't promised anymore than the breath you just took, so are you ready to meet your maker?

Church
Today is Sunday and we always go to church. This winter has been hard though as we have had to miss a number of times due to blizzards, way below zero or freezing rain and blowing snow. We look forward to this time of fellowship with fellow Christians and we all greet each other with handshakes and hugs. It is like one big happy family. Today one of the Youth leaders made breakfast for everyone and that was very enjoyable.
We have a wonderful Praise and Worship team with guitars, drums, keyboards, flute and singers and the music is just great. We always have a lively video at offering time with up-to-date upbeat Christian music. We really look forward to those times. Then our Pastor has an up-to-date teaching on the Father's love and Jesus. It was a beautiful sunny day too with very little wind. Snow is melting really well.

We Missed Church
Yes, we missed church today. We made a decision to stay off the roads because this area was issued a high wind warning. I bet some semi trucks were blown over or off the road today. It was 35+ miles per hour and it gusted so hard it shook the house a couple of times.
It was kind of a good thing we stayed home because I looked out the window just in time to see the wind blow a tree down. The problem was that the tree fell on two hot live wires and broke off another one. It was really not that big a tree, more of a tall skinny one and not too old.
It started arcing fire on the branches and then the tree began to burn. I had to call the electric company right away, the minute I saw the tree was sparking against the wires. It took an hour for the truck to come and shut off the electricity so they could cut the tree down and loose from the wires and fix the wires. It could have caused a real bad fire in the strong wind and could have caught onto the house close by.

Family Visit
Sunday, my sister surprised us and came to church from 50 miles away. What a surprise to hang up my coat and turn around and there she was. She got there earlier than we did and went to Sunday School too. After church, we went to local drive in restaurant and ate inside and called my brother. He came with his friend and the 6 of us had a great visit. After lunch my sister came over and I went over some things on the computer that she wasn't too familiar with. She then dropped off some stuff for my brother at his house and headed for home. It was a beautiful warm sunny day and a good time was had by all.

Easter Sunday
Jesus is Risen and Risen Indeed. We had a wonderful church service and a wonderful dinner at our daughter's. We got to see our darling little granddaughter too and she is at such a cute stage, chewing on her fingers and toes and smiling all the time. She is such a good baby. We brought home some yummy ham and cheesy potatoes and will have that for supper tonight. It wasn't a very sunny day but at least it didn't snow and a good time was had by all.

Sunday morning
Busy getting ready for church. It is really cold this morning so will havea to warm up the car a little. Mark is teaching this morning while the pastors are gone and he is really good. Really enjoy him. Lots of fellowship with everyone in church today as we missed last week due to heavy snow.
