Baby Dedication

We don't baptize babies in our church, we dedicate them to the Lord. When they become old enough to accept Jesus, then they may choose to be baptized in water. My little great granddaughter is going to be dedicated in church soon. I am blessed to be able to ride along with her grandparents and join her parents and the other set of grandparents to attend the dedication. I am really looking forward to going. We will have lunch at the baby's parents and then come home again. She isn't really a very small baby anymore but as you can s

ee she is so cute.

Beautiful Great Granddaughter

I have a new great granddaughter and she is growing up so fast. She smiles all the time. She is sitting up alone now. She has fun with other little cousins. I am sure I am prejudiced, but of course my great grandchildren are all more cute than others. I have l7 now and will soon have 18. What a blessing.

Three Generations

Here is a good picture of three generations.  I should have been in the picture to make it four generations :0) Little great granddaughter is growing up so fast.  She is in Kindergarten already.  It seems like yesterday she was just learning to walk.  My how time flies by.

New Bike

How well I remember my new bike.  I had a paper route and put away $1 a week for 40 weeks and then I received a new Columbia bike.  I had a paper route and it sure made things so much easier than walking miles and miles.  Now I see my great granddaughter got her first new bike.  Isn't it pretty?  She loves it.  She is so generous, she is going to loan it to someone's granddaughter who is visiting her grandmother.  I think that is special, don't you?

Fun in the Sun

We are finally having summer.  After a long cold, wet Spring, it is finally summer.  Has been up to the 90's which is a little too warm for me.  And the humidity has been very high too.  That really makes it uncomfortable.  However, the kids love it.  Here is one of my great granddaughters having a great time outside.

Dedication Day

In our church we don't baptize babies, we dedicate them to the Lord.  Here my little great granddaughter is all dressed up for her dedication.  Afterwards, we all had a first birthday party at her folks.  There was lots of food, enough for 3 times the people that were there.  Then we had cake and ice cream.  She really got into her own little cake with both hands.  She had to have a bath afterwards.  It was a lot of fun.

New Backpack

My great granddaughter got a new backpack for her Birthday.  She really likes it.  It is a good style that I think is easier on the young children to carry their things in.  It is pretty material too so she really likes it.  It was a very good idea for a birthday gift.  You hear a great deal today about children carrying heavy backpacks and the damage it does to their little bodies.  It is good to have one that spreads the weight out so it is easier to use.

First Day of Pre-School

Here is my sweet little great granddaughter all dressed up and ready for her first day at pre-school. She has been anxious to go all summer, I think. She is ready for school as she knows her numbers, colors and can even read and write a little already. She just loves it and can't wait to go every day. She will do very well in school.

Colorado Vacation

We traveled by Mountaineer across Nebraska, part of Wyoming near Cheyenne and then down to Ft. Collins and finally to Loveland, Colorado. It was just beautiful. We had my little great grandaughter with us and she was so cold up at 13,000 feet in Rocky Mountain National Park. We got many beautiful pictures of the mountains to remember our trip. We went to the wedding of my grandson and it was just beautiful. It was 800 feet above Estes Park.

New Great Granddaughter

Last week, I gained a new great granddaughter. Her name is Rylynn Rose. That makes 5 great granddaughters now and 8 great grandsons.

Isn't she a beautiful little girl? Boys really outnumber the girls in our family, so there is almost a celebration of sorts extra for a girl, although we love them all.

Great Granddaughter's First Swim

Our grandson is taking his little daughter out into the pool for her first swim. I don't think she knows quite what to make of the water. They got her the cutest little swimsuit. I bet she will be swimming like a little fish in a few years. Kids love to play in the water in warm weather. Our neighbor girls have been playing in the water spray now for several days during this warm weather.

Snow - How Deep is It?

This has been some kind of winter. It seems like every other day it snows some more. We are so tired of shoveling the deck and walk and driveway. However, as you can see

our little great granddaughter is having a ball playing in the snow. I don't think she can even walk in it the snow is so deep. It is a good thing she is outside with her Dad playing in the snow.

New Great Granddaughter

We got a new great granddaughter about 8:30 last night. Her name is Ava Marie. Marie was my great grandmother's name. We only have three other great granddaughters so she is special. We have 6 great grandsons. So now there are a total of 10. We are blessed. No. 11 is on the way and due for arrival in July 2011. We have 14 grandchildren so the greats are catching up with them fast.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

I just got an email from our granddaughter with a video of our little great granddaughter singing Itsy Bitsy Spider. It was so cute. She really has the words down and has memorized the song from the book and she turns the pages just as if she is reading it. She is very intelligent and catches onto everything very quickly. What a blessing she is. She loves to "read" to her little brother too.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice

That's what little girls are made out of. Remember that old rhyme? This little girl is our great granddaughter. She is such a talker. It is so much fun to see videos of her talking about various subjects. She just talks your ear off when you are with her. She is a great deal of fun and such a pretty little gal.

My Little Great Granddaughter

She is such a little doll. She is pulling herself up all over and the next thing we will hear she is walking. She is keeping her Mommy pretty busy already for quite awhile trying to keep up with her. Just wait till she walks. Little ones then begin to run and I think they run till they are 10 years old. That will be lots of fun for her Mom to keep up with her. Great exercise, huh? She will keep her Dad busy too when he gets home from work. They are so much fun and it is so neat to get pictures of her on the internet and keep up with her progress.

Grandchild

Our little great granddaughter is crawling all over the place. And she is very very fast. She keeps her mother running to keep up with her. She loves to get into everything as does every little child. Wait till she gets in the pots and pans and has a ball with them. Mom has probably already found that she has to put child locks on doors like that or suffer the consequences of picking up everything over and over. They are so much fun to watch their progress though. Next she will be walking and then watch out!

Great Grandaughter

We got some new pictures of our little great granddaughter over the internet yesterday. Although we don't get to see her in person that often, we are able to keep up with her growth by email. It is really neat to have technology today such as this. We get to see her growing into laughing and playing with her hand and feet. And like her Mom says, she always has her toys with her when she can chew on her toes. It is so cute. The Internet is very good in many ways.
