Birthday

It is my brother's birthday today.  I took him a card and gifts.  Also took a meal over and we sat and visited quite awhile.  He had surgery on his back awhile back and he was ready for a nap after we had visited awhile.  He was watching a hillarious program on TV and it was really funny.  I enjoyed spending time with him after church.

Back Surgery

My brother had back surgery last Thursday.  He had a nerve pinched in his lower back.  It was causing him great sciatic nerve pain all down his leg.  He wasn't getting much sleep and it hurt him in the daytime as well.  He had the surgery at 10 am and went home the next day at 10 am.  He can't drive for a week but that's good so he will stay home and rest and let his back heal.  I helped him yesterday to change the bandage.  His daughter changed it the day before.  He is doing real good now.  I took over a Mexican lunch and we both enjoyed that very much.

Mexican Lunch

Spent a great time with my brother yesterday.  We went to Taco Johns for lunch.  They have added to their menu and changed some things around.  However, the food is always good, no matter what you choose.  I had not been there with my brother for over a month.  When I asked him if he was going to get churros, he said he had not had any since I was there last.  So we both enjoyed the churros along with our lunch.  It was such a beautiful day too.  Lots of sunshine.

Family Visit

Stopped in to see my brother today. He wasn't feeling the best because his knee replacement was hurting him in the night quite a bit. Then with the time change we all lost an hours sleep to start with. His friends wanted him to go places with them today but he just didn't feel like it. He was going to take a nap. I am sure that was the best thing to do. Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest anyway. It's starting to look like we are going to get some rain soon.

Taco Tuesday

On Tuesdays, Taco Johns has a special on Tacos. My brother always goes and has them. I found out about this and decided I would go over and have tacos with him. It has been such a wonderful winter with minor snow so I have been able to go over every Tuesday for months, except one. It is another sunny day today. We had some snow on Monday but the roads are all dry again now.

Playing Games

It is so much easier for Mom when the kids get together and play well together. Here big sister is helping little brother play a game. She is so good with him. She is very intelligent and can teach him how to play. They have a good time playing games.

My Brother

We stopped to see my brother today. He is in a care center having physical therapy. He had his left knee replaced and is having quite a time with it. I guess the doctor's decided that they would do knee replacements in two ways now instead of one. In the old way, they stretch the cartilage apart and work on the bone and install the knee. The new way they cut the cartilage and do the work, put in the knee and then sew the cartilage back together. My brother has found that it takes a very long time for that cartilage to heal back together and after 4 weeks he still can't put weight on his leg without a brace. The brace is very uncomfortable and has to be on all the time except during therapy. I hope they rethink that type of surgery and don't cut any more cartilage on people unless they are much younger than my brother. And then I am not sure it will work well.

My Brother

My brother rode along with us yesterday to a funeral for our Aunt. He had a good time visiting with all our cousins, but he has a big problem hearing. He has new hearing aid ordered but they haven't come yet. He has to have special ones because he needs more help hearing than the average person with hearing loss. It is a hereditary thing among the men of our side of the family.

Blogging for Cash

I went to my brother's today and worked with him on his blogging. He is new at it but very interested. He has received a new monitor and it is so mucyh better to work with. He is catching on quickly and will be posting before we know it. He can use the money too so it's a great opportunity for him. I found another site called blogsvertise.com that I am going to tell him about. I am sure he will want to get started with them as soon as he reads about it.
