Mexican Lunch

Spent a great time with my brother yesterday.  We went to Taco Johns for lunch.  They have added to their menu and changed some things around.  However, the food is always good, no matter what you choose.  I had not been there with my brother for over a month.  When I asked him if he was going to get churros, he said he had not had any since I was there last.  So we both enjoyed the churros along with our lunch.  It was such a beautiful day too.  Lots of sunshine.

Here it is Tuesday Aleady

Tuesday is a special day. I go to see my brother and go out for Mexican with him. We go to Taco Johns. They have a special on tacos on Tuesdays and he told me about them. He goes every week and since we are getting older, I decided to join him as many weeks as I can. We have had the most wonderful snow free winter and I have been able to go every Tuesday but one. They also have the best cinnamon sugar churros so we have those for desert. Looking forward to that today.

Mexican Night

Tonight we went out to one of our favorite restaurants. They have TexMex on Thursday nights. It was just packed out tonight. I didn't think we were going to get a table at first. It is very popular any night of the week. It is in a small town of about 3,000 I would guess and the people really support the restaurant. That is because their food is always good. Last week we went down on Wednesday to their 3 meat buffet and it was delicious.

Taco Tico

Do you have a Taco Tico restaurant in your area? If so, you know how good they are. You can get any number of separate items and they are all delicious. When we are in a hurry, we dash in there and get a couple of taco burgers for lunch. They are always delicious and they are very fast. They have a drive thru too that is always busy. We love to stop there for lunch whenever we are in town shopping.

Mexican Night

Here it is Thursday again and it is Mexican night. We love going out of town for a good Mexican meal. It is fun to go to different places. It seems the food is always a bit different at each place. There is a new Mexican restaurant in a nearby town that we have not been to yet. This may be a good night to try out their food. My brother said he has been there and he really liked the variety. I guess we won't know till we try it.

Mexican Food

It's Thursday night and we went out for Mexican. We always go to our favorite place for TexMex. Tonight we had something called "Mexi Rounds". It is very good and they really filled the boat shaped dish very full. Neither of us could finish it all so we brought home some wonderful leftovers for lunch tomorrow and maybe Saturday too :0) It is so nice to come and go now in daylight too. Saw several deer in the ditches that had been killed.

Mexican Lasagna

I made a big pan of Mexican Lasagna yesterday. We had some of the leftovers tonight and the flavors were even better than last night. It is a family favorite and I have taken it to family reunions and brought home an empty pan every time. I love making hot dishes but sometimes it is hard to cut down the recipe for 2 people so you don't have to eat it for a week. When it gets cold, hot soup and hot casseroles really taste especially good and the oven heats the house even more too.

No Mexican Tonight

We stayed home tonight. We did not go out for our favorite Mexican food. I hate that but it just keeps raining and they threaten us with some snow besides. It feels good to stay in the nice warm house though. Our little dog is glad to have us home with her. She does not like to hear it rain. It scares her when it hits the windows.

Mexican Foods

We visited our favorite Mexican food restaurant tonight. It is called Carlos O'Kellys and is the best we have found. It is what you would call American Mexican I guess as it is more spicy and the sauces are delicious. I love their Enchiladas San Carlos with both chunky and shredded chicken, two kinds of sauces and cheese sauce over that. Also served with great refried beans, a little salad and Spanish rice. It is just delicious. Now they have started a Senior Discount so that makes it even better. We love their cheese dip as well as the red salsa. And the leftovers are wonderful the next day too.

No Cooking For Me Tonight

There will be no cooking for me tonight. We are going out to our favorite Mexican restaurant and I can hardly wait. We will be leaving in less than an hour so I better get ready. I just love their chicken fajitas and also chicken enchiladas. They make the best taco salads too in two sizes, small (which is pretty big) and large (which is humongous). If you leave there hungry, it is your own fault. They have all the tacos, beans and really good rice. Chips and salsa goes along with your meal really well and nachos with everything on them are very good, too. Sometimes, it is hard to decide what you want to eat, because there are so many good choices.

Mexi Rounds and Tacos

We went out tonight for a Mexican supper. They have it so you can choose single items or a platter. I got the MexiRounds tonight. That is little round crisp potatoes with taco meat all over them and green peppers and lots diced onions. Add some ripe olives and cover it all with melted cheese and you have a great dish. Then top it off with a big gob of sour cream and pour hot salsa all over that. It comes in a cute boat shaped dish and is just right for one person. You can wash it all down with your favorite beverage and you have one terrific meal.

Carlos O'Kellys Tonight!

Our brother and sister-in-law are driving in from Wisconsin today and will arrive about 5:30. We are going to pick them up and go to Carlos O'Kelly's for Mexican tonight That's a treat. We are meeting another brother and sister-in-law there too. I found a lady in Clear Lake that does alterations. They used to have the Cleaners in town but people just don't take their clothes to the Cleaners like they used to so they closed. She did all the alterations so I am having her shorten some jeans and blouses for me. We can drop them off on the way. My brother told me about her. I am sure glad to know someone with that skill. I just had 4 blouses shortened here in town but the lady is doing the clothes for her daughter's wedding and will be busy with that now until May.

Enchiladas and Buritos

Our son came tonight and took us to supper. We had all kinds of Mexican food which was just delicious. We had a very nice visit and got to ride in his company vehicle.
