Neighbor's Little Papillon Dog

One of the neighbors has the cutest little Papllion.  He's got more hair than dog.  He feels like he weighs about 3 lbs.  He just loves the snow.  He will run and jump into piles of it.  You would think he would freeze but he just loves it.  In the Spring when most of the snow is gone, he will look for those last piles and run and jump into the snow.  He's the cutest little guy and loves to come and have me scratch his ears.

Mopeds

There are quite a few kids with mopeds in our town. There seems to be quite a few in the neighborhood now. We used to have mopeds ourselves and had so much fun riding them all over. Since this is a small town, you don't have to worry quite as much about the traffic. However, it is a good idea to train your kids in the laws so that they obey them and don't ride right out in front of you or cut across in front of you without signaling. We see so many running stop signs too. The neighbor boy just got one for his birthday and he is having such a good time. He takes it to school every day now.

New Lawn Mower

The neighbors finally got a new lawnmower. Her dad has been coming over with his lawn mower for a couple of years. She goes and borrows it too at times. Sometimes the lawn gets lots longer than my husband would like to see next door to us. It is good to see them out mowing their lawn more now that they have a new mower themselves. Their son is also old enough now to help mow so that is good.

Lymphatic Cancer

Our neighbor next door has been diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. He has had to take chemo treatments for several months now. He is getting along very well. He is able to eat and he likes sweets so his wife bakes for him. She is a wonderful cook anyway. He lost all his hair of course, but he doesn't seem to mind. Actually, it seems to be the style these days. I hope his next test shows that it is all gone as the last test was quite good.

Ambulance Call

When we arrived home tonight, the Police car was sitting in front of one of the homes. Also the local ambulance was also there. It turned out our neighbor girl, age 20, was having serious breathing problems. Her Mom had left a message on our phone. They had to take her to the hospital. She was born very premature and has a permanent feeding tube. When she catches any kind of a cold, it can be very very serious. I hope she will be alright.

Our Little Dog

Our little dog, Holly, thinks she is a person. When she turned 4 years old, after not making much sound at all, she began to try to speak to us. When she needs to go out, she will come by our chair and "talk" in her dog language and we know what she wants. If you forget to give her a treat, she will stand in one spot until you notice her. Then you remember you forgot to give her a treat and she is happy to get it. We quit giving her regular dog treats because she put on weight so now we just give her a few pieces of her dog food and she thinks it is a treat. Our neighbor thinks that is just hillarious and tells everyone he knows about our little dog.
