Sweet Corn
We had our first sweet corn tonight and it sure was good. I got some neat little deals to put butter in to butter the corn and they really work good. You put a half stick of butter in and then the bottom pushed the butter out the top as you butter your corn. They have little lids and you put those on and put them in the refrigerator for the next time. Really slick and you can get more butter on your corn with them than anything we have tried yet. Our store has "Jake's Sweet Corn" and everyone is eager to see it come in fresh from the field. I like having my husband choose the ears because he is expert at choosing the good ones. I don't always do so well.:0)

Crockpot Roast
I made a crockpot roast for supper tonight. We had to be gone this afternoon for a doctor's appointment so it was easy to brown a roast and put it in the crockpot this morning. That way when we got home I could add carrots, onions and potatoes and have supper on time. It makes the most tender roast and sliced thin, leftovers make wonderful roast beef sandwiches tomorrow. The gravy is always out of this world too and I love the veggies with the meat. It is all so easy and delicious too.

Supper is in the Crockpot
I have a nice roast and onions cooking away in the crockpot. It smells so good. You can smell the aroma all through the house. I plan to make mashed potatoes tonight instead of cooking them in with the roast. That will be so good with great gravy. I also want to make lettuce salad with miniature marshmallows and sweetened Miracle Whip. It is good for a change from the various dressings we like.

Suppertime
My husband is busy frying fresh fries for supper. He is very helpful when I am on the computer. He has set the table and gotten almost everything ready. It is really great to have such a good helper. It has been raining a great deal and our little dog is under foot all the time. She is very scared and just shakes. I feel so sorry for her.

Steak and Salad
There is nothing better than a good tender steak and a good salad and baked potato. That is what we had for supper tonight. I have a Char-B-Que I got about 38 years ago that grills inside and is electric and works just like the day I bought it on sale at Sears. Sits on the counter. Easy to clean up. The steak was really tender. They have to have some fat running through them, otherwise they are tough.
